The blessings experienced during our two-week visit to Restored
Heritage in Cebu cannot be expressed in writing. They are embedded
in our hearts and will be with us always. Being allowed to minister
to and with the wonderful family of God atthe center and the
shelter was an awesome experience. To work with people who love
the Lord with all their hearts and walk it out daily presents
blessings without measure. God has truly anointed Marydel to
minister to adults and children alike and to mentor them in
the ways of the Lord.
The sincerity with which they seek the Lord through prayer and
Bible study daily was an inspiration to us. We were able to
see very young children who were not only able to quote scripture
after scripture but were learning the meaning of walking them
out in their lives. The people at the center and at the shelter
truly have the heart of a servant as they serve each other and
reach out to others all around them, faithfully sharing what
God has provided for them and watching Him meet their every
need.
The joy of the Lord is prevalent as all participate in taking
care of the children, cooking, cleaning, teaching, reaching
out, praising and worshipping, feeding the hungry and whatever
God calls them to do. It was such an inspiration to watch the
young people as they assume leadership roles in working with
the youth, leading praise and worship, teaching Bible studies
and ministering on the streets. We were warmly embraced and
quickly became a part of the family at Restored Heritage. We
left with sadness at leaving new found family and friends, but
with a "new fire" kindled by having been blessed to
minister with such loving and dedicated children of God.
We eagerly anticipate our return visit and hold dear the wonderful
new relationships we have formed with our family on the other
side of the world. May god continue to richly bless the ministry
and multiply its outreach and influence throughout the Philippines
and around the world...
