(A note from Marydel Glass, Founder of Restored
Heritage Foundation)
My desire has always been for the programs of the Restored Heritage
Foundation to be in one central location. Currently in Cebu,
our shelter is located several blocks from the building that
serves as our school and church. Though we now can walk to and
from the facilities rather than relying on public transportation,
I still would like to have all areas of the ministry in one
space. That is why I am excited to share with you what I believe
is the next step for the Restored Heritage Foundation.
Jerry Go, a board member of the Restored Heritage Foundation
and my nephew, has allowed us to use some land in Bohol. And
I believe this is God’s provision for expanding the ministries
of the Restored Heritage Foundation. There are several advantages
of this expansion:
1. As the number of residents at the shelter grows, we are quickly
running out of space. A move to Bohol will provide ample space
for the children to play, more rooms to properly divide residents
by age, gender, and need (for example, separate room for those
who are ill), and increased washroom/restroom facilities.
2. With increased classroom and playground space, our school
could apply for licensure through DECS (Dept of Education).
A licensed school enables us to offer a higher level of curriculum
to our students.
3. The opportunity to have all areas of ministry under one roof
with the possibility to expand, possibly including a Bible school
one day. Currently our space is limiting the expansion of the
ministry.
Note: The expansion of the Restored Heritage
Foundation is not removing the ministry from Cebu, but extending
it to Bohol as well. We hope to complete our mission in both
areas.
Currently, construction is underway in Bohol. We are beginning
with phase 1, the building of the shelter and will progress
to the building of the school and church as funds allow. The
estimated cost to complete phases 1 of the building project
is $24,000 ( as of October 2004).
